  1. Well, you wanted the return of Cold War @Olympian1010 so Trump threatening to escalate the heat in Middle East fits right within your wishes
  2. We can always transfer an athlete back into the team once he/she returns into action, right?
  3. NFC Wild Card games: New Orleans Saints 20 Minnesota Vikings 26 (after overtime). Drew Brees picked a bad time for his worst game of the season, he wasn't even the best Saints QB on the field. It seems like Saints SB window is closed. Philadelphia Eagles 9 Seattle Seahawks 17. Carson Wentz avoided injury all season long and gets taken out by a nasty hit on the second drive. Duh! 40 year old Josh McCown could only muster three FGs and got sacked a lot. It was painful to watch this offense.
  4. AFC Wild Card games: Houston Texans 22 Buffalo Bills 19 (after overtime). Josh Allen is light years removed from winning a playoff game. Bills controlled the game for 40 minutes but scored only 16 points and blew a 16-0 lead. DeShaun Watson produced a Eli Manning sack-avoding move to set up the GW-field goal in overtime. New England Patriots 13 Tennessee Titans 20. The Evil Empire appears to be done. This could have been Tom Brady's last game in New England.
  5. Noel wins, Zehnhausern misses out by 0,07! Vinatzer 3rd then Myhrer and Marchand! Pinturault 9th, Kristoffersen 19th.
  6. Kranjec ties Kristoffersen's time... in slalom! Vinatzer finally takes Marchand. 7 skiers left.
  7. What are the odds Eric Clapton is her favorite musician?
  8. I prefer Andrzej Mielczarek whom I've first heard doing F1 highlights for TVP in the early 90s. I suspect Mielczarek & Gac are still doing WTCR together for Eurosport now?
  9. I remember Grzegorz Gac from way back in the 90s. He's been quite annoying as commentator for some time
  10. He said he doesn't even like rugby either. I can only speculate if cricket is more popular in some England areas than others? Well, speedway used to be more popular south of the border some years ago but Czech Republic still hosts one of the Grand Prix rounds. One of the Czech speedway riders said everyone wants to be in the Polish league because it's the highest paid place available. The Danish and Swedish leagues don't offer so much money and the English league is basically on life support with more clubs folding every now and then.
  11. Is Bundesliga still broadcasted on Eurosport? It sure helps a lot of winter sports where Germany usually excells has Eurosport coverage. Back to Dakar, Jakub Przygonski lasted all of 146 km before his gearbox broke
  12. It sure helps Denmark is literally one of three countries in the world where speedway is remotely relevant
  13. Polish Sports Personality of the Year Awards: 1. Bartosz Zmarzlik (speedway) 2. Robert Lewandowski (association football) 3. Pawel Fajdek (hammer throw) 4. Women's 4x400 Relay (track & field) 5. Dawid Kubacki (ski jumping) 6. Kamil Stoch (ski jumping) 7. Wilfredo Leon (volleyball) 8. Piotr Lisek (pole vault) 9. Marcin Lewandowski (1500m track & field) 10. Mateusz Ponitka (basketball) Team of the Year: Men's Basketball National Team 99% of TO doesn't know who Zmarzlik is and 99.9% can't even pronounce his name
  14. Well, since the end of WWII no other country has been involved in armed conflicts more often than USA. It comes with the price tag of being a world super power
  15. Liensberger gets on the podium despite being 3,49 secs, off the pace
  16. The guy has a bigger chance of dying in office than beating Trump IMO Speaking more seriously, the more things change the more they stay the same. All the progressive talk. candidates of color yadda yadda and the best chance to beat an old white guy has another old white guy? That's brand new information! I told ya before, Dems need to find the next Clinton or Obama. I'm not even gonna mention the next JFK because that's totally off the mark (not to mention he's still the only Catholic elected President, right?). I read some left-wing journalists saying Dems can't fall into a trap of trying to find the next Obama. Hell, that's totally wrong but the thing is, appeasing the minorities can't come at the expense of appeasing the actual majority! Take for granted all you want (inc. the blacks or Latinos) BUT in democracy it's still the majority that wins. Just how costly was losing the Rust Belt for crooked Hilary last time out? If the blue collars vote GOP, the Dems and officially screwed.
  17. So, Kubacki leads FH after 3 rounds but is yet to win one of these individual events. The last jumper who won FH without winning any of the 4 is probably Janne Ahonen IIRC (1999, 1x 5th, 3x 2nd).
  18. This was announced in December but technically it happens this year. Caroline Wozniacki will retire after the Australian Open. She won this tournament two years ago and finally cracked the Grand Slam code that eluded her for years. Since she's ineligible for the Olympics, it was almost a no-brainer decision to anyone who follows tennis like myself.
  19. Maybe Democrats want to be friends with Iran again? Party like it's 1979?
  20. In the second round 30 athletes just jump for the 2nd time and the highest combined score of two jumps wins.
  21. Irina Starykh & Said Karimulla Khalili replace T.Voronina & D.Malyshko for Oberhof.
  22. Forget race, religion or sexual orientation, we have some moron who thinks veganism should be protected by the law. Hell, he argues veganism IS a form of religion This is where the entitlement crap of this world truly rises to the fore. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-50969168
  23. You're the one who wants politics mixing with sports so you should be extremely happy with this
