Morikawa has won!! I also have never heard of him since the restart, but the guy might be golf’s new superstar. This guy is the future and the future is now. Incredible performance

This remains to be seen. We haven't had one true dominator in men's golf for a while. Winning two or three majors in this ultra-competitive era is quite an achievement already. Morikawa doesn't have the power supply some of the others do and of course let's see how he handles pressure now that he's a major winner.

do u know if he's the 1st south African or African in general to win a race ?

First for South Africa, Kork Ballington and Jon Ekerold won races in 250cc and 350cc only and Paddy Driver's best 500cc finish was 2nd.

However it's not a first win for an African rider as Gary Hocking was a 500cc World Champion (for Rhodesia).

  3. Kontaveit should be a favorite here.

Speaking of Prague, how much appearance fee Bouchard got for entering here? It's competely random to see a North-American player among all these Czechs, Russians and Romanians who don't have to travel far to play there :p

Sadly the coach is her father... And he is a completely stupid, really. I hate him :p

Well, he is a motivator - like most of the parent coaches but that form of coaching is slowly fading away.

Anett Kontaveit beats Petra Martic in the first SF.

If only Camila had a better head...

Or just a proper coach. Then again, she's got one style of play so what is there to coach to begin with? Tennis is a very one-dimensional sport sometimes.

As someone who lives near/in a city that will host the Olympic Games within the decade, I can tell you that is very much not true. While it might be true amongst the members of this forum, that opinion won’t hold up in the general public or even a good portion of the Olympic Movement.

Los Angeles has Lakers and Dodgers. USA is probably one country that doesn't need to host any Olympics. Hell, it had a hard time to bid for athletics World Champs for 30+ years despite being a powerhouse in that sport. If people are okay with cancelling Tokyo and boycotting Beijing WOG then what's the point of even staging the Olympics in first place? Just abandon the whole project as 20th century relict

  7. Postponing the Games and threatening to cancel them alltogether is a bad PR enough nobody will care what the cauldron looks like tbh. Forget the environement crap, people just want the Games to go ahead no matter what IMO.

Btw, nuclear plants are supposed to be environement-friendly but Japan will forever be linked to the Fukushima disaster so there's little hope to change that narrative.

  8. All of them from the Lewica (The Left) club. However their boss Czarzasty (a genuine communist dinosaur) said that putting the rainbow flags on a cross & other religious monuments was "wrong" so there is that. Polish left (post-communists) have last been in power 16 years ago and there's zero chance they can break the PO & PiS two-party system.

The woman third from left was leading a move to have the priests responsible for sexual harrassement but it came crashing down when it was exposed the leader of that move extorted money from the victims based on fake cancer diagnosis. Oh yeah, the Polish left-wingers have a hard time to score even a small victory lately :p

It's not only too narrow, it's also too dowhnill.

There is too much speed in such a narrow road.

I don't remember any stages in TDF or Giro who would have such a downhill straight sprint finish.

    Too dangerous,

The finish is bang in Katowice downtown right by the Spodek Arena and the Zietek Rondo. It's a man-made area with the underground tunnel beneath the Korfanty Alley & the Rondo itself. The ground peak is an alley exiting Siemianowice ca. 7 kms before, once you turn into Korfanty Alley by the old tram loop it's all downhill right into the Rondo.
