I don’t mind if Orban wins in Hungary or the other freaks in Poland as Long as they don’t discriminate some groups of people.

It's always about the same crap, gay marriage & abortion. Here's the thing though, when liberals held power in Poland they didn't pass the LGBT & abortion laws either  Now they promise to do so but they've fallen to third place in polls, the lowest % score in over 15 years. They are totally screwed as Poland remains a conservative hold :coffee:

And unless Kvitova goes far, there will be no Czech women in the top 10 for the first time since???

Probably May 2016 when Kvitova dropped out of Top 10 when she failed to defend the Madrid title. The currently ending Pliskova streak started in August 2016.

No , i didn't watch WCs in this era , the 1st WC i saw was 2002 actually :D , but i followed many U20 WCs and never understood this strange system :D

No problem. It's kinda compliacted at first but not so much when you have the fixed pattern for all the scenarios. Croatia vs Scotland is the key game after which things will be much more clear. Ukraine, Finland and Slovakia must pray this game ends in a draw (which is not that impossible result).

Finland's path to qualify is quite improbable. They have to count on:

    a) :CRO vs :SCO ending in a draw

    AND

    b) :POL not beating :SWE

    AND

    c) :ESP to beat :SVK by three goals

And if all those three things happen then you'll have :BEL vs :SUI in R16 and :FIN playing either :ESP or :SWE

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS 3RD BEST PLACED TEAMS SYSTEM WORK COULD U GIVE A SMALL BRIEF :d

I suppose you weren't around for the 1986-1994 World Cups when the same system was in place?

It all depends which four teams from which groups qualify.

If tomorrow there is a draw in :CRO vs :SCO then I'm gonna say 99% Groups B & D will be the ones to advance only two teams (unless Poland doesn't beat Sweden and Slovakia loses to Spain by three goals). Actually Poland beating Sweden is the biggest potential spoiler of my laid out plan.

If Groups B & D advance two teams then R16 matches COULD be: :BEL vs :SVK , :NED vs :POR, :ESP vs :UKR and :FRA vs :SUI (again, only most probable if Croatia vs Scotland ends in a draw).

The 3rd team options are listed here (those still possible in green).

why it's not official that Belgium will face Switzerland in R16 ?

Because that game would only happen if :FIN qualifies from 3rd place and that's actually a very unlikely scenario.

:BEL will most likely play a 3rd place team from Group E - unless a team from that Group joins :FIN and doesn't qualify at all.

That :CZE v :ENG match can be an epic snooze fest, there will be no reason whatsoever for either teams to push for the win.

However we know that runner-up from Group D plays runner-up from Group E so if Sweden beats Poland, England could play Spain in R16 :p

The ideal scenario for England is a Poland win which means they will indeed play us in R16 :p
