Anna Karolina Schmiedlova makes AO MD beating Elizabeth Mandlik (Hana Mandlikova's daughter) 6-4 6-4 is some old almost Czechoslovakia of sorts derby @hckoĆĄice

Poland has the same problem since 1989. Other than two terms of post-communists in charge (and one very lax ex-communist President who wasn't all that bad) we get the same group of post-Solidarnosc people running the show. However they've changed named twice within that period --> KLD - UW - PO and PC - AWS - PiS

So it turns out Joe Biden was also keeping secret documents in private house & offices. Maybe this is also Donald Trump's fault? What did you expect from two parties in power for 160 years? They are equally worthless. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64244007

France beats Poland 26-24.

Naomi Osaka announced she is pregnant and will not play this season. The mystery about her not entering Australian Open has been revealed (and made a complete mockery of The Guardian article the other day which claimed she is doing some kind of mini-rebellion against the system ).

Brenda Fruhvirtova came from 5-7 1-5 down to beat Daria Snigur 5-7 7-6(3) 6-3 in Q2 Most players don't come back from a set & 1-5 down in their entire careers and this girl does it at 15 years old

Vlhova wins in Flachau. Sadly Ljutic straddled a gate in the 2nd run but she can't be far off that maiden podium.

6-year old boy intentionally shot his teacher but she survived. USA is truly a progressive country like no other. And they are still afraid to stike down the 2nd Amendment from 18th century https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64210387

National & International Sports Awards
Monzanator replied to konig's topic in Totallympics Mixed Zone
Fajdek is an arrogant buffoon and people simply don't like him. Hell, even my mother dislikes him Like that story from Beijing World Champs when he got drunk and left the gold medal in a taxi cab. I know it was supposed to be funny but he also came around like a complete idiot. Speedway is obviously overhyped, it seems like everyone who follows the sport votes for him regardless of club alliance. -
Arizona Cardinals GM Steve Keim & HC Kliff Kingsbury have been fired. This franchise is stuck with QB Kyler Murray who seems more interested in 'Call of Duty' video games and will come off a torn ACL next season. Whomever takes the HC job will have an impossible task to make this thing work. If they promote DC Vance Joseph then it will be a complete waste anyway.

Modern Pentathlon 2023 Discussion Thread
Monzanator replied to Totallympics's topic in Modern Pentathlon
I mean if you get rid of fencing then modern pentathlon IS triathlon. This is some crazy joke. Let's don't waste time on this laser shooting thing because it's a total blip on the radar at this stage. I'm amazed IOC hasn't killed this sport off yet to make room for more break dancing events. -
Wild card schedule. Not surprised Buck & Aikman on ESPN get their Brady vs Cowboys match-up

I suppose Kraken are the new whipping boys in Seattle

Yeah, Geno will get crushed by Niners but really happy for Lions even in moral victory. They could have something cooking and next season could be their playoff return. Dan Campbell has outlasted all the usual ra-ra coaches by a long mile.

Hossein Vafaei beat Mark Selby 6-2 in the first round of Masters. I wonder if he's any popular back home given his rise up the snooker ranks in the last 18-24 months? @MHSN

Jon Rahm wins the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii by two shots over Collin Morikawa. Morikawa led by 6 shots after three rounds and led Rahm by 9(!) shots after the 1st hole of the final round but collapsed on the back nine. I read this is only the 9th time a leader has blown a six shot final round lead in PGA history

Miami Dolphins beat NY Jets 11-6 and make the #7 seed in AFC. They have no chance vs Bills if Tua can't come back though. Houston Texans beat Indianapolis Colts 32-31 after Lovie Smith went for 2 pt conversion with 50 seconds left. Therefore Chicago Bears get #1 draft pick and this opens the door for some trading. I assume Lovie will be fired after the season so that was some trolling to potentially cost them a shot at Bryce Young if Bears do trade away that #1 pick

Women's ice hockey is a two team race since forever. Even women's volleyball is more competitive than the annual Canada vs USA series Nations League used some reserve rosters like mentioned above.

It was predictable Titans offense will be a slow burner and Dobbs did pretty well until the two late fumbles considering this was only his second career start. Lawrence missed a wide open TD to make it 14-13 and it was perhaps better he didn't have to drive for a TD to win the game because that could have ended either way

Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from Australian Open. Part-time player doesn't even give a damn about hard courts anymore
