Sorry I'm lost. I'm not understanding.

So today was the last day to confirm the quotas? But not necesarilly name them? And in that case, when's the deadline to name the athletes?

today, the international federations were supposed to announce the final start lists, and to NOCs eventual redistributed and reallocated quotas, the national federations and committees must announce whether they agree and confirm their interest in them. The names of the athletes should also be announced today, but they can still be exchanged, for serious reasons, no later than one week before the start of the games.

For example our Triathletes Richard Varga is 1st under the line in M individual and Romana Gajdošová is 1st under the line in W Individual (Quite unique and rare situation, but what can we do, the mixed relay introduction in Triathlon fucked up everything) however, we have no quota now. since only Denmark rejected their male quota but was awarded to Russia to fullfil the relay team. Now both our athletes are ..de facto out of the games, but are still classified as alternates and have to be prepared because, The Dead-line is until 1 week before the games start, so they can be called anytime until then to replace if any of the currently confirmed quota, athlete will not be able to start.

:CRO Josip Rumac received a reallocation for the men's road race.  Someone must have withdrawn (Croatia ended up as the first reserve in the nations rankings).

So our cycling is saved after all. :cheer:

It appears :EST Estonia declined one of their M time trial places. It went to :LAT Latvia.

Also, somehow :USA was allowed to send a time trial-only athlete - Amber Neben?? This is so shady.

I think one of their road cyclists (Chloe Dygert) is competing in track cycling so there isn't an increase in athlete quotas.

Looks like :SWE Sweden dropped out of women's road cycling too... Nobody got the reallocation?

:MEX Mexico got it for the time trial. This would suggest that :FRA:CUB declined.

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
