Perfect olympics for Brazil in swimming. All their medal contenders (Fratus) delivered and then they also won a medal by a complete nobody (Schaffer). I think they won more medals on the men's side than Japan and as many medals as Japan and China combined ...

btw, without the new events this would be least amount of gold the  won in swimming since 1988.

I guess I spoke too soon, now even with the new events this the worst Olympics for the  in swimming since 1992. And it will be worse than Barcelona if they won't win the last event.

Anyone else feel like so many of these medals are sort of forgettable, since mostly we're watching the same names fight for them the whole week (unlike in athletes, where you see totally different names in most events)?  

 

I mean, I've watched basically every final live and with focus but I had already forgotten McKeon actually took the 50 + 100 freestyle double
