:IRL Irish eventing team has been named... No Jonty Evans for obvious reasons.

Team:

  • Tipperary’s Padraig McCarthy with Mr Chunky, owned by Christopher and Sarita Perkins, Huw Lloyd and Lucy Wiegersma
  • Kildare’s Aoife Clark with Fernhill Adventure (ISH), owned by Richard Last and Aoife Clark
  • Galway’s Cathal Daniels with Rioghan Rua (ISH), owned by Margaret Kinsella
  • Meath’s Sarah Ennis with Horseware Stellor Rebound (ISH), owned by Horseware Products Ltd, Niki Potterton and Orla Ennis
  • Carlow’s Sam Watson and Horseware Ardagh Highlight (ISH), owned by Belinda Keir

Five reserves have also been named in the following order:

  • 1st  Tim Bourke with Luckaun Quality (ISH)
  • 2nd Patricia Ryan with Dunrath Eclipse (ISH)
  • 3rd Joseph Murphy with Sportsfield Othello (ISH)
  • 4th  Ciaran Glynn with November Night (ISH) (TIH)
  • 5th  Clare Abbott with Euro Prince (ISH)

Really, Tim Bourke & Luckaun Quality only the reserves? :( That's a hardcore Irish eventing combination that very much excels in cross-country. They are much more reliable than Clark & Fernhill Adventure and Ennis & Stellor Rebound...

All but one listed horses are ISH. :d

In any case, hopefully @OlympicIRL will be celebrating first Irish Olympic spots with this team. :cheer:

:SUI Switzerland has also named their eventing team:

Patrizia Attinger (Hilton P)

Robin Goddel (Grandeur de Lully CH)

Ben Vogg (Noe des Vatys)

Felix Vogg (Colero)

Ben Vogg & Noe des Vatys' palmares keeps expanding! They are the only combination in history of the sport that competed at Junior/Young Rider championships as well as all three senior championships (ContCh, WEG, OG).

2010 European Junior Championships

2011, 2012, 2013 European Young Rider Championships

2014 World Equestrian Games

2015, 2017 European Championships

2016 Olympic Games

Also we have a shortlist for the :USA show jumping team.

:AUS Australia has named its dressage team

Mary Hanna (Boogie Woogie)

Alexis Hellyer (Bluefields Floreno)

Kristy Oatley (Du Soleil)

Brett Parberry (DP Weltmieser)

:NZL New Zealand has named its dressage individuals

Julie Brougham (Vom Feinsten)

John Thompson (Antonello)

So, since Japan is prequalified and New Zealand decided not send a team, Australia is basically guaranteed to get the Group G team spot for Tokyo.

National selection processes are now in full swing. :DEN Denmark announced their dressage team long list.

Cathrine Dufour (Atterupgaards Cassidy)

Daniel Bachmann Andersen (Blue Hors Zack or Blue Hors Zepter)

Anna Zibrandtsen (Arlando)

Rikke Svane (Finckenstein)

Anders Dahl (Selten HW)

Anna Kasprzak (Rock Star)

Victoria Vallentin (Ludwig der Sonnenkonig)

Bettina Jager (Belstaff)

As expected, for the first time since 2011 Europeans Kasprzak's Donnperignon won't be on the team. Also no Agnete Kirk Thinggaard this time.

Dufour and Bachmann Andersen (on Zepter) could both be scoring over 80% by the WEG, which is quite exciting for Danish chances. However, their 3rd counting rider may be their undoing medal-wise...

And it ended up with Cathrine Dufour (Atterupgaards Cassidy), Daniel Bachmann Andersen (Blue Hors Zack), Anders Dahl (Selten HW) and Betina Jæger Jensen (Mane Stream Belstaff)

Thanks for the update! :yes

Sadly, it looks like Zibrandtsen's withdrawal during Aachen was more serious than it looked. :( Without her, Danish medal chances are likely gone as Dahl is quite inconsistent while Jaeger & Belstaff very inexperienced (they literally have only two Grand Prix internationals on record, although with decent scores).

Don't know how serious it was with Zibrandtsen as she has been selected as first reserve with Rikke Svane as second.

Well, that's odd. Maybe elimination in Uggerhalne + withdrawal in Aachen played part. Otherwise I've got no idea how Dahl would be picked over her.
