Two world champions for Holland in about 20 minutes. First Lilian de Geus in Women's RSX and then Dorian van Rijsselberghe in the men's RSX. WOW!!! Both men and women still have to sail the medalrace :yikes:

And here it is.

Olympic quota - check

Medal - check

Gold medal - almost check

Incredible, even in an off-year for our sailing, our guys still pull this out despite having very limited experience in the 49er class.

all results have now been published on the official website, so we can take them for official...

3 Olympic spots for Italy and the 49er crew just missing out by finishing 1 single point behind DEN, 2 points behind SUI and 3 points behind POR (all of them qualified to Tokyo 2020)...they just haven't been lucky, to say the least...

and Tita/Banti finally did make up for yesterday's disaster and now they're back on top of the rankings of the Nacra 17 class before the Medal Race (which is expected to be a great show, since we have ITA 1 point ahead of AUS, then ARG 3 points from the top and DEN 6 points behind ITA...even BRA -12 points behind ITA- is not out of the Gold Medal fight yet)...

101 quotas have been divided between 33 nations.

:GBR qualified the whole fleet. :ITA:NED:NZL qualified six boats.

:NED qualified RSX Men, RSX Women, Finn, 49er FX and Laser Radial. That's 5 boats. Or did the Women's 470 also qualify?

3 boats is exactly what I expected from Brazil, but Nacra 17 instead of Finn was kinda unexpected.

Also, with both Argentina and Brazil qualified in Nacra, I think the south american spot will probably go to Uruguay.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
