An orrible 3-0 for Italy  I hope that we'll have our revenge in Rio

Not sure if we can really beat Brazil unless they're in a very bad day and our guys in a very good one, but ofc, anything can happen...
Let's see now what happens against USA

This win is unexpected, so we have again chance to play semifinals?

will Cuba definitely won't be disqualified?

No. They already said they will just call other players (like it should be).

Don't get hopeful, Serbia can't possibly play in Rio :p being good in World Leagues isn't enough merit. I think Puerto Rico (next best in NORCECA), Germany (next best in Europe) or Bulgaria (next best in Ranking not qualified) would have priority.

    • It's a shame that Italy hasn't naturalized anyone from those regions for 4 years, including winter sports. Many countries do this, though the most of them are those from the former USSR, where Russia itself probably doesn't bother with too long waiting periods: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc. We only have Antropova, which isn't even involved in the war, as it was already discussed in 2021.   https://www.oasport.it/2025/12/polina-kudermetova-non-rappresentera-piu-la-russia-la-tennista-giochera-sotto-la-bandiera-delluzbekistan/

    • As long as there is a 2900 athlete quota cap it is rational for every winter IF to be against any expansion of the program (except for their own sport).
