Hockey Olympic draw on Sep 9, a day after Oceania Cup.

India will host both the qualifiers for both the formats. Also, it seems the men's team will be among top 3 seeds which will give them a weaker opponent which could be Pakistan, Austria or Egypt

Mostly 2nd seed. Since Aus surely to win. More worried of women rather than men team.

It doesn't matter if we are 2nd seed or 3rd seed. Important thing is we are in pot 1. Pakistan could be tricky but I am sure we can win easily even against them (provided there government allows them to travel to India).

In the women's section, our opponent will be among Korea (tricky but manageable), Belgium (very slim chance against them), USA (they are in free fall at present, so should be easy) and Canada (again we should be favourites). So, if we avoid Belgium, even women's team should qualify.

Sanjeev Rajput won the 8th quota. This guiy is awesome. If he is in the final, he will win something. I spoke about this yesterday.

Kudos to the young lot also.

Guys, can we win 4 medals from Shooting at Tokyo; whay say?

Though we cannot take these world cups as the last word . ( some stronger shooters may not be shooting who have already qualified ) . i feel that 4 medals as possible

We can get qualifications in this WC and the Asian Qualifiers for the yellow cells. The red ones are out of reach for us. Expecting 4-5 more given Heena Sidhu and Deepak Kumar have not qualified yet.

In principle we have effectively 4 more qualifiers one each in mixed pistol and rifle and manu in 25 and anjum in 50 as they are in the best two we have.... i feel one more qualifier in 10 m rifle looks possible and one more in 10m pistol women and also almost surely in 25 m rapid ..... in shotgun at the asian we can have 1-2 qualifiers ...... so i am hoping 5-6 more qualifiers a

No, you have to qualify in a particular event. Just because a player has qualified in 10m will not mean automatic qualification in 25m. Someone from your country has to qualify for 25m separately

It will be a massive upset if Heena qualifies. She's no where among the top 4 in the 10m Air Pistol in India. It could be Esha Singh, Shwetha or Yeshashwini.

Another bad thing would be Deepak qualifying. He's awfully bad in finals no matter what. Maybe Yash Vardhan is preferable.

See if you don't know the basic qualification rules it's better to read once. Go and download it from issf page. :d

    • Alpine skiing also we have a lot of problems: the men's team is very weak and has been winning a few podiums a season for several years and the our best skier- Dominik Paris is 35. We still have a strong women's team but 3 of the 4 leaders are over 30 (Goggia, Brignone, Curtoni) and Bassino is 28. Another 2 years and we will have the same problem as the men's. There is basically no cross-country skiing without Pellegrino for many years, biathlon is based on 2 individuals with one of them has a 35 years. Vittozzi's injury was enough and we haven`t a single podium this season after 3 stages of the World Cup. As for 1 year to the home games the situation isn`t optimistic.
