Ski Jumping at the Nordic Skiing FIS World Championships 2021

Recommended Posts

Tremendous choke from Kramer. Takanashi only bronze is also a loser. Ema Klinec is World Champion. Really happy for the Slovenians! :cheer:

Kramer threw this away herself. The jump was clearly badly timed and if she doesn't mess up her landing like that she still at least gets silver. But that jury decision to shorten her run was a f*cking disgrace. Won't make it look any better that the decision was made by a Slovenian as the head of the jury.

Changing the gates in women's ski jumping is so frequent and unneccessary everyone except FIS is tired of it. Nothing you can do about it though.

Insane start for Slovenia. They might have already exceeded their expectations.

I mean, it's hard to say what exactly the expectations were, but Gold for Slovenia in this competition wasn't exactly a surprise

Yes, I meant Olympic events. I think before the start of the event, 2 medals seemed like their best case scenario and this was basically their only gold medal chance.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases

It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
