Once again I'm glad to live in the Northeast region. São Paulo and Rio elect the worst politicians possible.

At least I'm glad everyone I know, who all live in São Paulo (the state, and a few in the city), voted for someone else. I believe most voted for Haddad, I'm not even entirely sure, I just know they didn't vote for Bolsonaro..

Also that person who attacked Bolsonaro a while ago surely must have been someone 'secretly' on his side? Simply because everyone knows that attacking any candidate in any country is basically always good for the candidate or (in case they are killed) their party..

I'm as pessimistic as almost anyone about the outcome, but at least a tiny, tiny glimmer of hope is that Bolsonaro didn't manage to win it in the 1st round..(with only a fraction of a % of votes still to be counted)

First Peña Nieto and now Lopez Obrador.......who is worst?

Both are idiots who come from the same background... only difference is Peña was from the "upper class" and Lopez is from the "poor class"; yet both are equally incompetent, gold diggers. The only difference is that Peña was a puppet controlled by the Salinas family /hence the risk of another Tequila effect) and Lopez is a senile mesianic person. So in all honesty we should better change the country's official name to "Estamos Jodidos Mexicanos"

I know he would do a piece on that craziness. He’s my favorite political comedian

Every country seems to have some weird politicians nowadays, but Brazil seems to have more than its fair share.

I always dreamt of visiting Sao Paulo (Liberdade to be more precisely), hopefully Brazil doesn't return to much darker times.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • I will do my best to organise a pairs competition also involving nations from the 4 teams that are eliminated in the first half of the team competition along with the lowest ranked individual nations at the halfway point (end of session 2) to form 8 pairs. Pairs will be balanced so that the highest ranked nation in the competition will be paired with the lowest ranked nation, second highest with the second lowest and so on. All of that will be based on the individual ranking at the halfway point.   This way every nation will have at least interest in some event until the end of the 3rd session.   I will probably base it closely on @mrv86‘s proposed rules, and have sprints every 3 rounds of votes. The pairs with most medals from those 3 rounds get the points along with an extra bonus for medal and points doubles.   I do only have 1 day to organise this now so I can’t promise anything though.

    • The two-woman quota is based upon the "combined" ranking. The 6 best monobob + 6 best 2-woman results are taken into account at the moment (7 once this week's WC race has been raced).  Weiszewski competed in Europe Cup yesterday in the monobob, finishing 2nd, which gave her 110 points. This was her 7th monobob race, so this result replaced her worst (80 points), helping her leapfrog Cernanska by 8 points. At this point I guess she's in a better spot, as she's got the same room for improvement in the two-woman today, while Cernanska probably won't compete that well in the WC.
