You've always opposed this regime, so what do you think? Did the USA attack strengthen the regime, or was there no chance of its fall anyway? Two million people in Tehran alone protested against the Shah in late 1970 years and now these protests have never been so numerous. What are your thoughts on this?

of course the regime is stronger than it was 2 months ago, probably with more supporters, it's easy to gather people (some people at least) around the flag when the enemy bombards schools killing hundreds of schoolkids. they are rallying and celebrating on the streets every nights which is really annoying.

the 8 years war with Iraq solidified the regime at the time and I assume this one did the same.

I wasn't alive in 1970s, but I can tell there was Khomeini who was charismatic (I don't know why, he never even tried to look like a nice person, I still can't understand what people saw in him) he managed to gather all groups from left to right under his umbrella. there is no such a thing right now and beside that, this is not a simple dictatorship regime with one head. this regime is almost impossible to fall with force. the only way to beat it is through civil activities and we are far from that right now.

The Shah was considered a servant of the West, and that's probably why people disliked him, because the economic situation in Iran was good at the time. Khomeini wasn't even in Iran at the time, only in Paris, I think. From what I have read, the Shah never had popular support and could have fallen in the 1950s, with only the USA and UK keeping him in power. However, the current regime seems to have more support than he does. The Shah was certainly outside from reality and had been so throughout his life + he also apparently had no charisma - in fact, he relied on other countries all the time - the USSR and the UK overthrew his father during II World War and later the UK and the USA. I once watched a documentary film about Shah Pahlavi- quite interesting. He was already terminally disease anyway; when he was overthrown, he would have died immediately.

There was even an interesting fact: Pahlavi, as a youth, studied in Switzerland in the 1930s and demanded that students stand and bow to him when he entered the classroom, because that's what was done in Iran:wall:This shows that he was really outside from reality his entire life- raised to believe he was a god. I don't know if he ever went out without his protection in Tehran when he was in power in Iran for a long time.

MILEI WOULD BE WILLING TO GIVE NETANYAHU A PIECE OF ARGENTINA, AND EVERYTHING HE'S DONE POINTS IN THAT DIRECTION

🗺️ Netanyahu was photographed looking at a map of Argentine Patagonia during his meeting with Milei. No official explanation. The next day, Israel attacked Iran. At that same meeting they signed military, migration and pension agreements facilitating Israeli residency in Argentina. Nobody explained what Patagonia has to do with any of that.

🔥 Now connect the dots: Milei slashed over 80% of Patagonia's wildfire firefighting budget. Deregulated land use on burned territory. Israeli magnates like Joe Lewis already own 14,000 hectares at Lago Escondido. Israel's state-owned Mekorot already operates in the region's water resources. The migration agreements include social benefits and facilitated access for Israeli citizens.

✈️ Milei is visiting Israel for the third time. He'll be the first foreign leader ever to light Israel's Independence Day torch. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem. Declared Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. Israel's ambassador called him someone "on the right side of history." The Knesset called him "the best friend Israel has ever had in the Casa Rosada."

The "Andinian Plan" is a very old conspiracy theory in this land, nothing new under the sun.

Iran's economy before the revolution was OK but not good.

M.R. Pahlavi wasn't the worst dictator in the world but still a dictator and in my book there is no good dictator, they are all bad. and yeah that 1953 coup or what we call 28th Mordad Coup played big role in the current mess. (ironically those responsible for that coup now consider themselves defending democracy) 50 years before that Iran had a revolution called "Constitutional Revolution" to limit the king's (Shah) power massively and creating the parliament, that coup was essentially the end of that era, completely destroying the parliament and giving 100% power to the king.

if you rule a big country like Iran for something like 40 years, you start to believe you are the God himself, that was the problem with A. Khameneyi too.

btw at the time of revolution nobody knew he was dealing with cancer, that was revealed later.

Turkey doesn't have democracy right now either- the mayor of Istanbul is imprisoned for Erdogana (exactly like Erdogan once did in the same position). How will this end? Will the government change, just as Erdogan once did when he came to power by winning the 2002 elections? Erdogan probably no longer has real support in the country, but will he relinquish power? Turkey has always been a country that other Arab countries later emulated.

theocracy = institutionalised murder and khomeini was a brainless butcher; no comparison can ever be made to the former Shah, despite all his flaws. Dictators are not alike, as graveyards around the world can testify...

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

Overall, I fear that if AFD + FPO were to come to power in GER/AUT, Italy could lose South Tyrol- maybe not now, but in the future- yes. There will certainly be problems in that region and Meloni, unfortunately, is like a child- she's not a politician for difficult times.

To be entirely fair, South Tyrol going back to Austria doesn't exactly sound terrible :p

Although not great for Italy I suppose, losing arguably their safest region of the country.
