Track Cycling at the Summer Olympic Games 2020

Recommended Posts

Good start but a bit worrying that Niklas could in no way follow after gaining the lap.
Hope he just felt like there was no reason to fight for the top but he was out there for quite some time.

ESP commentators are still convinced that Kenny is somehow the overwhelming favorite.

"You are not multiple Olympic champion for nothing."

"Flying lap is not the same as racing."

True as those two statements may be in a separate environment, it does indeed show his lack of general knowledge about the event

Lee Wai Sze bowling opponents out of the race :hairpull:

Edit: 'bowling' is a bit exaggerated, but her movements - for the whole race basically - did start the whole mess. Besides all that, Marchant being the 100% victim here :(

Just now, heywoodu said:

Now we'll get a repechage heat where 4 out of 5 will qualify, as if the keirin repechages weren't a tad too much already.

What repechage? There are no more repechage races in keirin.

UK sport have been looking for a opportunity to de fund British Cycling - the public here in the UK are seeing the Track Cycling as sudden flop so that will be the excuse needed to cut funding heavily.

Even Kenny isn't expecting to win and has said his teammate has a better chance than he does.

    • I'm not sure that's right, I believe it goes group stage record then finish in the group stage (that's what a lot of people seem to think) then runs allowed per recorded defensive out   Actually, doing more research and there's more conflicting information... they really should've made this more clear
    • So Canada is ahead of Puerto Rico in the second tiebreaker, but currently it's  >  >  in the third tiebreaker.   If this holds up there's going to be a lot of Canadians arguing that Puerto Rico should be eliminated due to the second tiebreaker, but I think the second tiebreaker only applies if all teams have head to head results.

The Dominican Republic has the edge there after going 4-0 in group play. Canada, Puerto Rico and Venezuela each went 3-1.   The second tiebreaker is head-to-head result (if applicable), followed by runs allowed per recorded defensive out over the entire WBC   good luck if CAN, PUR and VEN all lose in the quarters
