Brent Metcalf loses 9-7 to Franklin Gomez at Pan Am Qualifier, and the Americans are all saying Metcalf got robbed when 2 points weren't awarded off a takedown near the end of the match

Canada has only qualified one man... not looking good

Not a great day for Canada, just one wrestler. Qualifying at one of the final qualification tournaments will be hard.

Cuba on the other hand has recovered nicely after not qualifying any freestyle wrestlers during the world champs. They already have four with a potential for one more.

The Euro Champs will show in what form is our team, and they better be in good form, because the olympic qualifying tournaments are comming very soon. Getting only 3 quotas from the Worlds last year was pathetic, so these couple of months will be do or die.

I was hoping for a spot in the -97kg. It didn't help that US and Cuba did poorly at the world champs.

Woulda been nice, but I never expect Canadians to beat Americans or Cubans in Men's wrestling. And I will be amazed if we even win any matches in Greco-Roman tomorrow lol, I can't remember the last time we had good GR wrestlers.
