Quite literally the only rider in the race (or even the entire pro peloton, other than Bouhanni) I'd hate to see as winner, especially of one of the most epic races in recent memory

Same thing as happened yesterday - a strong rider is holding back in a group in the hope that weaker riders are going to contribute, but in fact all they’re doing is holding him back.
