A new "fast, youth-oriented, easy to learn and urban" version of baseball

"Only a rubber ball is needed for the street sport which is said to bring baseball to previously inaccessible areas.

Any playing surface can be utilised and no pitcher is needed as hitting is done by hand."

Baseball without a bat. Brilliant.

Next will be swimming without water.

Hitting by hand, this is starting to sound like kaatsen,  a local but big sport in the somewhat odd Dutch province of Friesland (which nobody else knows anything about, hitting by hand and the fact that the big competition is called the PC is basically all I know :p )

They use "urban" a lot. And one doesn't use an adjective often if they are completely fine with the opposite. :p

Well, no, not really . There are similar games in other european regions (Wallonia, northen France, Valencia region...). There is even a world championship and an international game that mixes the differents disciplines. All of them and more (basque pelota, tambourin/tamburello... and, well, tennis) are sharing the same roots.

None of them looks anything like this new baseball game though :p
