yeah, the Russians did throw down ITA and NED, so they were DQed and FRA took advantage of the other 2 teams being well behind after the fall...

by the way, :NED Suzanne Schulting dominated the event among the women, winning also the 1000m distance ahead of teammate Selma Poutsma and :GER Anna Seidel...

 

that was enough to mathematically secure the Overall Title, too, despite she ended up with a DSQ in the 3000m Superfinal, which was won by :RUS Sofia Prosvirnova...

 

in the men's division, :RUS Semen Elistratov won the 1000m distance and the Overall Title, meanwhile the young Italian Pietro Sighel surprisingly won the 3000m Superfinal, which led him to win also the Overall Silver medal, breaking somehow the Russian/Dutch domination...

 

in the Relays, we already said of the unexpected French success among the women, while the men's event was won by :NED the Netherlands ahead of :ITA Italy and :RUS Russia...

oh, sorry...also in Italy it was on Eurosport Player, but YT is not geoblocked in any case...we're luckier...:lol:

PEN because of pushing Selma Poutsma past Prosvirnova in the last meters of the final, so Poutsma could end up with a bronze medal in the overall....yeah, that's not allowed and they both ended up with a big fat PEN next to their name :facepalm:

yeah, that wasn't exactly a smart move, to say the least...especially in a sport where every single second of the race is watched and watched again by a full panel of judges assisted by top tier technology...:facepalm:

      This could be the last ever Paralympics. Come 2028 it might well not be held because the IPC has split in two. That’s one legacy for Andrew Parsons.    He could simply ignore CAS or even withdraw the IPC from them. Unless he is worried about falling from his hotel room window or is being blackmailed.

      The Netherlands has decided to cancel its hosting of the 2026 European Paralympic Swimming Championships due to the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes under their own flags, ad.nl reported on February 25. The Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) made this decision after consultations with government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, which confirmed the withdrawal.
