Well if that is the case and there is no other option, they could have both genders run on the womens course. It would be something afterall, instead of not having a downhill or SG at all.

Theoretically they could make the Super-G on the women's slope I guess. The big problem are the downhill and the combined, since by the rules you need a downhill training on the slope before a race takes place. Said differently, if they decide to use the women's course for the men's downhill and combined there would have to be at least one more training run which would cost another day.

Anyway, I read that, if the weather is bad, the organizers are willing to put the downhill start all the way down to the women's super-g start, because they somehow have to make a downhill run tomorrow. They are also willing to delay the downhill run up to 3 hours and would then make the evening. Important side note, if they really shorten the downhill, the slalom will fortunately be shortened too.

Wait, so if weather hypothetically remains bad through Friday, it's possible that none of the men's speed events will be held just like that? :yikes:

Wow, that's new....that would suck so bad. Although a shortened downhill + slalom would barely be much better.

All the advantage to the slalom specialists now I'd say?

Congrats to France! If they won't win gold here (Muffat-Jandet is probably the favorite), then they only have themselves to blame.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.

    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
