Off-topic, when I lived in Beijing there was a park across the street that had all the 2022 pictograms along its fence on the street. They were big and lit up at night. It was really cool, especially because the 2022 pictograms were very unique and creative.

20240930_MiCo2026 Comp Schedule Version 6 Final NO CODES.pdf

Here is the latest version of the schedule that now shows up on the official website. Contains a bit more information than the previous version. As for start times, the only difference I can see is that the ice dance rhythm dance starts 5 minutes earlier at 19:15 instead of 19:20.

And yet another version is out :d. This time with some more noticeable changes.

Ice Hockey:

  • Women's semifinals moved from the Rho Arena to the Santa Giulia Arena
  • Women's gold medal game moved up to a 19:10 start time (was previous 20:10)

Speed Skating:

  • Most of the events have had their session cut by somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes. Start times remain the same

Figure Skating:

  • Looks like the order of events in team event is now: Ice Dance -> Pairs -> Women. Women were previously listed first.

Alpine Skiing:

  • Downhill portion of the team combined cut by 45 minutes
  • 1st Run of the Giant Slalom and Slalom events cut by 30 minutes

Ski Mountaineering:

  • Sprint heats extended by 8 minutes. Finals session extended by 13 minutes

Ski Jumping:

  • All sessions shortened by 5 to 15 minutes

Fingers crossed the women’s curling gold medal match also undergoes changes, very preferably an hour earlier so it doesn’t conflict with the men’s hockey gold medal match :d

Seriously, what were they thinking

About the pictograms: I usually fail to see how they are tied to some city or country anyway, a slightly different line or font isn't going to make me think "Ah, Italy!" or "Yep, that's China!", so I am very happy with these ones :d They look super recognizable, especially for the Summer Olympics it's often a puzzle to connect every pictogram with a sport, here it's very clear :cheer:

The Beijing 2022 design was based on the traditional Chinese seal/stamp. If you've been there, you'd recognize it as very Chinese immediately.

Doing more in daylight again means a more congested schedule with some possible clashes between the Alpine and the Cross - Country or Biathlon.

In European Championships from 20 wrestlers in a weight you were seeing 7-8 foreigners. Yes, it's mostly Russians, but there are also Ukrainians, Georgians, Cubans being naturalized.    I've said it numerous times, that i don't approve the tactic our federation started of naturalizing people left and right. Which actually wasn't paying off that much, until the Olympics. If it leads to worse results, than it's just a wakeup call for the destruction of our wrestling system (which has been evident for 15 years).

No bobsleigh yet, so I guess they will get double races with no skeleton later in the season.      There were two Asian Cup races on the Pyeongchang track last weekend, and another scheduled for tomorrow, so no excuses for poor performance, everybody should be used to it by now.     IBSF Bobsleigh & Skeleton - YouTube

Then Pinheiro Braathen has another chance in the Levi slalom on Sunday.
