Tomorrow is the first rest day of the Top Division and Division I B tournaments, but is also the opening day of the Women´s Under 18 Division I Group A World Championship in Italy.

*Tournament Format: 6 Nations play a usual Round-Robin tournament, Each team play once every opponent, The first ranked Nation will qualify for the Women´s Under 18 Top Division World Championships next year in 2019. Teams ranked from 2nd to 5th will stay in this division also for the next year and the last ranked Nation will be relegated to the Women´s Under 18 Division I Group B 2019.

0:1 after 2 periods against the top favorite is certainly not so bad result, even if you are clearly outshooted so far 4-36. but still it´s only 0-1 and everything is still possible. Any eventual point from this match may be a great boost, Each team will have a lot of trouble with Japan, they are clearly in another level than any other team in this division

I know but we don't do a single shot.. I think that it's a miracle that it's only 1-0 for Japan

Preliminary Round Last Day Schedule (GMT +3)

 

 

Group A

15:30  :USA United States vs Canada :CAN    (in Arena A)

19:30  :SWE Sweden vs Russia :RUS    (in Arena A)

 

*All 4 teams are still fighting for the top 2 places and direct qualification for the semifinals.

**USA need 1 single point to assure their quarterfinals bye, or Sweden win over Russia.

***Canada will qualify for the semis if they win in regular time over the US. in case of OT/GWS win or lose, they need the help of Sweden in match with Russia.

****Russia will qualify for the semifinals in case of regular time win against Sweden. or OT/GWS win over the Swedes but Canada can not beat the US in regular time.

*****Sweden will qualify for the semis only if they win over Russia in regular Time and USA beat Canada also in regular time.

 

Group B

15:30  :GER Germany vs Switzerland :SUI    (in Arena B)

19:30  :FIN Finland vs Czech Republic :CZE    (in Arena B)

 

*Finland already qualified for the Play-Offs and Switzerland already assured to play the relegation round. The second spot for the quarterfinal and second spot for the relegation battle will be contested between the Czechs and Germans.

**If CZE win against FIN (doesn´t matter if in RT or after OT/GWS) they will qualify for the QF. Also even losing will be enough if Germany will not beat Switzerland.

***Germany will qualify for the quarterfinals only if they defeat Switzerland and Finland will beat the Czechs.
