Biathlon IBU World Cup 2017 - 2018

Well, first pursuit for Tomas Kaukėnas this season, so I guess we have that. Vytautas Strolia didn't cope with the shooting and now he'll be 61st with 0.1s away from tomorrow's pursuit.

Pretty nice to see Svendsen doing well, would be fun if he could take down Fourcade tomorrow.

Both Boes and Hofer in very good positions for the pursuit, but a pretty bad performance for the Germans again.

Both Gow brothers in points as well.

And lastly, Beatrix just punched a ticket to the IBU cup probably.

Also good return of the Czechs, it seems they have digested the lack of Koukalova

Concerning Beatrix he knew he had the sword of Damocles hanging over his head ... it's all in the hands of Simon now :)

Well, it's not like Guigonnat or Jacquelin built strong cases for themselves in this race either. The selection process is still pretty much wide open.

As for the Czechs, it seems that this slow start to the season was all a rouse and it looks like they're ready to cause some trouble now.

Yes but Guigonnat is again well ahead Beatrix and Jacquelin has made the cut ... he should have been downgraded before, it's a new below average performance from him and I don't think he deserves to be protected again

Hinz with arguably the best performance of the day, moving from 55th to 18th (and losing not more than one second on Kuzmina)

Too bad the pursuit format doesn't award the best performances of the day.

He debuted in Torino 2006 to close the circle in another Italian resort in 2026, by this he set the new Slovak Winter Olympic record of participation and tie the all time one with Erik Vlček competing at 6 games in Sprint Canoeing as well.   The remaining quartet (Pic 2) will debut at the Olympics, all still Juniors Christián Bosman & Bruno Mick in the M Doubles and still schoolgirls Viktória Praxová & Desana Špitzová in the olympic premiere of the W Doubles     Must also be said, that we were quite unlucky in this qualifiers periode, Marián Skupek missed the second M Singles quota by 1 point and ended first non-qualified athlete and the experienced doubles Vaverčák/Zmij which was in clear qualifying position ended the season after Vaverčák injured his knee in the training before the Sigulda race 2 weeks ago   Also for the first time no W Singles participation for us meaning also obviously no participation in the Mixed Relay competition for the first time as well   Team (Updated as of 12th January 2026) 40 Athletes (30 M + 10 W)
