Interesting situation in combined. None of the slalom skiers managed to just sneak into top 30, so there won't be the usual combined 30th -> 1st place.

Perfect situation for Pinturault, he started the slalom early and everyone who might have a clearly better slalom than him only starts when the top-30 has wrecked the course

He is so bad in downhil this season, he should consider retiring

Problem for us if he drops out of the top 30 in combined (which is very probable) we lose one quota

 

@edit. i just checked he is out of top 30 already now

No, he is well inside the top 30 on Olympic FIS points list. Because of the injury status from last season.

 

 

And he did have some solid results in North America. Like 39th place in Beaver Creek super-g (only 0.38 outside of points).
