After some plus/minus "million" years we will participate at the World Boxing Championships

The only 19 years old junior Andrej "Bandi" Csemez did managed to achieve the impossible and qualify himself to the world championships. Ofc no chance at all to expect anything huge, just the fact that Slovakia is back on the world boxing map is already a success.  Congrats dude.

Until now the only and sole Slovak World Boxing Championship medal happened in 1997 in Budapest thanks to legendary Rudolf Dydi and his bronze in -48kg, a guy who instead to going to the Olympics spent his "free time" in prison :p

:SVK TEAM SLOVAKIA :SVK

Mens

  • Andrej CSEMEZ  (-75kg)

make the impossible possible :hyper:

Andrej Csemez won his first round match against the Asian championships runner up Lee Dong-Youn of :KOR  5-0 :woohoo:THIS is just UNBELIEVABLE !!! :toast:

he advanced among the last 16 !

incredible. in this round he will face the continental champion Khyzhniak of :UKR  just read that his next opponent has his own team staff with a a Kazakh personal coach and he has 8000 EUR per month salary lol, what a difference between the world and our boxing, I don´t even know if our mini-team had enough money to buy tickets to Hamburg, or they will have to return back by hitchhiking

Anyway Congrats "Bandi" and enjoy the rest of the championships :cheer:

    • It's been impressive seeing Portugal going from not qualifying for 18 years to hanging and beating some of the top nations.   Let's see if this becomes more than just a second golden age.

    • Incredible match today, for the first time ever Portugal is qualified for a world cup quarterfinals, with group opponents such as Norway, Sweden and Spain (did we ever won Spain before? Don’t think so) and still undefeated!   whatever happens this has been the most incredible tournament ever for Portugal. And they still are not headlines in the sporting news at home!!! Let’s hope for tomorrow’s newspapers because today’s win was historical!   Im also double happy for the jointed qualification of the Portuguese speaking nations: vamos Brazil!    has small hope for Cape Verde against Argentina but I knew it would be super difficult
