Today a WTA 500 tournament in Abu Dhabi started and already we have some surprises, like Pera who beats Vekic and Kontaveit who lost to Kudermetova.

Tomorrow tournaments ATP 250 in Antalya and Delray Beach will begin.

I'm also glad that thanks to all those withdrawals in Antalya Kacper Żuk will finally debut in ATP main draw, he gets easy opponent which is Altug Celikbilek, he should easily win this match :)

There is some changes in the calendar. Right after Australian Open there will be three tournament, to previously confirmed tournaments in Cordoba and Montpellier we have added new tournament in Singapore on hard courts. Miami Open tournament is confirmed to be held at the end of March. After Miami will be played two tournaments, one in Marrakesh and second, new one, in Marbella, both on clay.

From April 19th alongside ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona there will be a ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade as replacement of Hungarian Open.

A tournament U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships which is annually held in Houston is cancelled for this year due to Covid-19.

27 years old and third hip surgery on the way. Laura Robson has basically done nothing since 2014 due to injuries. I know tennis pays a lot but she should really retire. I suppose she's got nothing else to do or what? It's obvious her body isn't up to pro athlete standards anymore - and hasn't been for the last six years.

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
