Great result for Weger!  His last podium was in 18/19 in the Mixed Relay at Pokjuka.  His last individual podium was the 11/12 season in the sprint at Kontiolahti.

What. A. Race :hyper: I am speechless  I'm so happy for Simon and Preuss!!! That last lap was stressful, it looked like they were both really tired and the group behind was gonna overtake them, then Preuss looked better and Simon tired, and then Simon looked better

Sad for Hauser, a fall at the worst time possible :(

Both races today were amazing   Oberhof is usually not amongst my favorite rounds of the season, but this year the conditions, the snow, the races, everything was picturesque. I'm actually a bit sad we are leaving. I don't remember so much snow since they stopped going to Khanty-Mansiysk.

It was the complete opposite of last season  I've never liked Oberhof that much either but this year the conditions were exceptional, there wasn't even fog!

    • Germany also fell hard in this discipline, the same thing happened to Russia - in 2022 they were much weaker than before. Romania – similar levels for years. France – strong growth until 2024, and now a decline again. Georgia – growth, but a large number of naturalized people from the Balkans play there. Generally, I see Georgia has been naturalizing a lot in various sports lately: water polo, figure skating, etc. Could that local regime there be spending much more money to further promote the country through sports?

    • To be fair,  has been active in men's water polo for about a decade. I've been using them as a barometer for whether a European nation is relevant.   I'd love to see them face non-European nations some time to see how they'd stack up.
