Swedish ski shape looked worse already last weekend and now worse but I can just hope it is the altitude and that they just need a few more days. I don´t know if it is my feeling or a fact that swedes are worse than others to prepare for high altitude. Tour de Ski as example, Ebba Andersson minutes after skiiers she is usually better than in val Mustair and then still finished 3rd in the overall after they travelled to the other venues.

no, it's not only your feeling...

also the Italian tv commentators yesterday were underlining this particular situation while explaining why Anterselva/Antholz is quite a different location than almost all the other world cup stations (the stadium is 1600+ meters in altitude)...

and they made the same example of Ebba Andersson and her fail in Val Mustair followed by the usual top results in the other TdS locations...

they also explained how the altitude affects not only the cross-country skiing (which is quite obvious and evident), but also the shooting phase because of its action on the blood and oxygen pressure...

Another screenshot moment - Scott Gow :CAN leads!

Unfortunately has a classic sixth shot crisis.  :p

Leif Nordgren :USA misses the chance to go 0 0 0 - still good though.

Simon Eder first to go 0 0 0....

Loginov also 15/15

Jesper Nellin 4 misses on shoot 4!  :dunno:

Eder 18/18 & then....19/20 blows a certain podium.

Loginov first to 20/20!   Might still be vulnerable to 19/20 from a fast skier.

QFM bears Hofer to third by 0.1 of a second.

David Komatz :AUT also 20/20 but well down on time.

Fabien Claude completely of Form
In my opinion he should not race tomorrow. Guigonnat, Fillion, Desthieux and Jacquelin are much better at the moment than him.

Dudchenko was soo close. Could be 2 medals in 2 days for Ukraine @Illya

Russian victory finally. Good 2 days with no norway and sweden in top position  great for biathlon should continue a Little longer..

by the way, missing the podium in the home race for just 0.1 secs after 20kms must hurt a lot...poor Hofer (and poor Dudchenko, too...he was so close to make a miracle)...

and those idiots want to get rid of the 15/20km individual race... :wall:

because it doesn't fit the average tv audience, they say...:hairpull:

It would be a disaster for the sport if we did get rid of it.  Every race would be won by the equivalent of Lars Berger or Miriam Gossner who ski fast & shoot at 80%.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

    • Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
