:champion:  PACHUCA :MEX  won the Concacaf Champions League, with a 1-0 win over Tigres (2-1 on aggregate).

This is their fifth title, and they became the first team to qualify for this year's FIFA Club World Cup (UAE 2017)

  • 3 weeks later...

Rotterdam is pretty much exploding at the moment :d

After 18 years, Feyenoord (one of the 'big 3' in the Netherlands) finally is the champion again on the very last day by winning at home, leading to the stadium and the big squares and everything sort of exploding :p

Ajax was the other one that had a chance to take the title, but they needed Feyenoord to draw or lose.

I see Dirk Kuyt scored hattrick, didn't know he still plays football. :dAnd Giovanni van Bronckhorst is coach, I remember him from Barcelona.

Yep, Kuyt came back to Feyenoord to end the year-long drought with the dream of winning the championship :d

The stadium exploded when he scored after 40 seconds (!) and again after 12 minutes :d

Even more when he scored the 3-0 from a penalty, which really sealed the deal.

The only sort of pathetic thing is the players and stadium singing "Helemaal niets, helemaal niets, helemaal niets in Amsterdam!", meaning "Absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing in Amsterdam!" (the city of Ajax, their eternal enemies)

Nah, that's a common thing in football. Btw Ajax plays Europa league final, it may not be ''absolutely nothing''

My thoughts exactly :d

It's sort of funny and sad for Feyenoord: if Ajax wins the Europa League, they sort of overshadow Feyenoord's historical title within 10 days

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
