:VIEVietnam in alpine skiing (they will also compete in snowboarding and figure skating at the 2017 AWG, but unlikely to qualify for 2018)

I love how this article shows so clearly that Vietnam has 0 "feeling" with alpine skiing...a truly exotic nation :d

"I was ..th at the Competition Allgäuer Skiverband", it's like saying "I finished 5th at the FIS" :p

I see :GAM on the list of countries which are expected to compete in 2017 Winter Universiade. Anyone know something about athlete(s) from this country and his/her chances competing in Korea?

I think this is a mistake. Also the list of nations is down from the original amount and I beleive Gambia is a part of this list.

If the list is to believed and the athletes are decent this could mean either in 2018 or 2022 athletes from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, UAE and Gambia debuting. Also Madagascar would have a shot at a return, and Uganda I guess would count as a debut because they have only participated in the winter Paralympics. Nice to see Nepal, South Africa, and Tajikistan there as well.

Pita Taufatofua vlajkonosič výpravy súostrovia Tonga pri slávnostnom otvorení OH v Rio de Janeiro.

Okay I am mistaken. Apparently Gambia are on the final list of competing nations.

The guide said something like that: Algeria is a few minutes from here but we won't go there because there is a war going on there and it's not safe.
    • Netanyahu is bad but unfortunately Hamas helps him maintain power. Every attack they make is a reinforcement of Netanyahu's rhetoric about the country's security, etc. In the fall of 2023, Netanyahu was already losing support and then suddenly a big Hamas attack on a festival near the Gaza Strip. Coincidence? It wouldn`t surprise me at all if Netanyahu knew about the plan for this attack but did nothing so that he would then have the tools to maintain his power. I also remember Ariel Sharon - he was probably even more radical than Netanyahu but he had a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma.

    • There are still many people of Jewish origin in Central and Eastern Europe who have nothing to do with the state of Israel. What ties does Zelensky have to the state of Israel? Apart from he waś there as president of Ukraine and speaking in the Knesset? Nothing. In the power circles in Moscow there were/are many people of Jewish origin and what about that? A large part of the power apparatus of the USSR was based on Jews, especially in the years shortly after WWII.   Instead of constantly writing about Jews, would be better to tell me which country Algeria has better diplomatic relations with: Tunisia or Egypt?
