And that will mean major funding cuts  non Curling winter sport nearly lost all funding after Bejing and certainly will if it happens again.

British winter sport is at an all time peak so those funding cuts after Beijing didn’t do much harm.

But unfortunately it might not translate to when it matters. World Championship medals mean nothing if the Olympics is a flop. Bejing was a warning to them. Two consecutive failures wont be accepted. 
 

If it gets really bad at least one of the glass callings will need to be broken - I.e two or more golds or gold on snow.

 predicting 8 medals is not looking a sensible idea. After the backlash to Bejing they might well kill off Winter Sports funding.
