@intoronto but how many Ind events can Summer swim in LA? We don’t know the schedule yet ofc but It looks like we may be close to Phelps 8 golds from 2008

I think 4 or 5 individual golds is just about possible but I can't see Canada dominating all the relays as the US did with Phelps

She's planning to compete in 5 individual events and should be at least a medal threat in all of them.

If fatigue wasn't a thing she could outright compete and be a medal threat in 8 individual events (though 200m back would be very small). She'd probably also hit the OQT in the 100m free, 100m fly and 200m breast, but probably won't be competitive.

@Fer GUA do you think Luis Grijalva is really a contender for a 5000m medal in LA???

What was his form in 2025 season???

He was injured, didn't compete at Worlds or at the Central American Games, hopefully 2026 will be better and from there he can aim for LA 2028

Phelps never swam 8 individual, most he did was five. He always got 2-3 freebies in relays thanks to swimming for a powerhouse

McIntosh will be lucky to get one relay medal the way Canada's relays are shaping up. I think she's hoping to swim five individual events, schedule permitting

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
