Hey, see how the the Dutch guy laid back and let Stolz go when they were about to converge on that exchange? Yeah, that's what's supposed to happen, Japanese dude.

Added summary of current qualification standings here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_skating_at_the_2026_Winter_Olympics_–_Qualification

Will keep the Wikipedia page updated as best I can. If I'm feeling really ambitious I'll update my script to output in a Totallympics format too, sadly the speed skating qualification system is somewhat complicated so I'm not gonna do this by hand xD

If anyone finds any issues with the list please let me know, I haven't thoroughly tested my script with the new qualification system.

Fun fact: as it stands :NED is already not at the maximum quota on the men's side (since Marcel Bosker is only a time qualifier in the men's 5000m)

In the women's side they're not even trying, the main Dutch team only just arrived in Salt Lake (and at first didn't even want to go at all) and massively underperformed yesterday in the 3k :p

Halfway through November and we've already had our first mess of the season.

Well the Dutch women are on track to do what they need to send a full team so far - as it stands they have a full contingent of points qualifiers in the 1000m, 3000m and 5000m ;)

That looks really good. I would trim it down though to only show a few outside of the qualification window, seems like a lot of work to detail irrelevant skaters, but what ever you want to do is surely appreciated.

I don’t do it manually, I use a script that pulls the data from the ISU website, so same amount of work on my end regardless of how many skaters it is. I would like to hide the lower half of the list, I know that’s possible on Wikipedia, but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet.

Oh very cool.  Try <!-- (content) -->, they use it for instructions for tables on soccer events, maybe it can work in a table like you have done. The end should be '- - > ' but when I put it together it makes an arrow on here for some reason

Take a look at what someone did here for Tennis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennis_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_–_Qualification. Seems like it should work for you.

Beatrice Lamarche with a 37.30, could we finally actually see someone taking down that 37.22 :CAN record after almost 25 years? :yikes:

    • @hckošice Do you agree with me to some extent, or am I hopelessly dreaming?
    • Interesting forecasts, I like 'em! I think the US wins the most medals, but Norway tops the standings (most golds)... have Germany neck-and-neck with Norway for medals, but fewer gold.    Then have Canada and Italy fighting it out for 4th in 5th   Then have Sweden, Austrian, Japan, Netherlands and France rounding out the top ten, with them all within a medal or two of each other. Of course reality will differ significantly
    • A huge day for the very young Italian Bertini: despite a very tough draw, he beats Szilagy in the round of 16 and Gu in the quarterfinals! First career podium for him!
    • Time for more personal and detailed predictions:    will have it hard this time.   I'm trying to stay realistic about our chances. We're not going there as favorites in most events, and deep down I know it would be a big surprise if we suddenly overperformed or even dominated. Still, sports have a beautiful way of ignoring expectations.   We're never predicted to do amazingly well at either edition of the Olympics, so I’m desperately hoping for moments that will stay with everyone in the country for years, whether it's a final that keeps people glued to their screens or a performance that will make us proud. Just one medal could mean so much. It would bring real emotions and something to cheer for to a country that isn’t going through its best period right now. And on the rare occasion of a hockey miracle, celebrations in the streets wouldn't be an oddity.   It all comes down to four sports, the rest are out of reach:   Alpine Skiing is a big mystery, and it will all come down to Petra, whether she'll compete and eventually shock everyone with a heroic result. That's the best-case scenario. Biathlon can be the dark horse, you never know how things turn around. The women's relay is probably our biggest chance, but all four of them need to deliver great performances. As for Ice Hockey, our national sport, I'll always believe in another fairytale. I'll always believe we'll pull off a miracle. Since I wasn't alive yet when we won gold at the World Championships, I can only resort to watching old videos and imagine how amazing it must have been to watch as your country is the champion of the world in something. Best on the planet. Even the silver years later was amazing, but I was too young to actually remember it, so it's time for another hockey euphoria in the country. Ski Mountaineering is a bit overlooked in the media right now, but I believe we have a huge chance of winning a medal in one of the events. Our athletes aren't minnows.   We're a small country, still relatively young. There's not much we're known for in the world, but sports are a perfect way to build a national identity, to stop people from thinking you're still part of a state that ceased to exist decades ago. Doing well in sports is one of the few things these lesser-known countries can show off, not just the ones in Europe.   I'm desperately hoping for a medal, and we all want those two weeks of the Olympics to be amazing and full of unforgettable moments.
    • Never wanted a prediction to be more right
    • Two weeks before the Games officially begin, time to give my final predictions on the medal standings.     will beat  and win the medal table at the WOG for the first time in 100 years. All the (absurd) retirements of elite Norge athletes last season will have its consequences and they will drop to second.    will my bold pick to return to the top 3 after their horrendous Beijing performance, when it comes to Gold medals.     Germany will slip down and will have less than 9 golds for the first time in 50 years. Depending on how the chips fall in some sports, they could even be outside the top 5.   Home team of  will have their best Olympics in some, better than Torino, but it still won't be enough to get into the top 5.
