Figure Skating at the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026

Recommended Posts

I like the idea of the team event in figure skating, I hate the format (which I have been very consistent about from the time it was announced). Just ridiculous to base it on placement points.

Italy like naturalisation in sport also :) but yeah you deserve more for this bronze.

Fun fact and mildly related: at the opening ceremony there were at least 10 Italian flagbearers (as in, Italian citizens grew up in Italy).

It will be hard to compare notes. For me the first should have 12 next 10 and third 8

If they based it on actual points, then :USA would absolutely win (at least, I think)...the point differential between :JPN and :USA in ice dance is huge, as is Malinin's potential total score.

Why did Japan change it's skater from sp?

Doing 4 programs at the Olympics in so few days is very difficult. Kagiyama is aiming for big medals, No surprise he needed a rest

but yeah, Japanese probably did not expect they will fight for gold themselves I guess

    • Stefania Constantini and her team out of Italy are heading their separate ways   Very confused to be honest, I know they had a bad season but I didn't expect to this happening... there's no real other options for any of them, unless they're focusing on Rock League/mixed doubles.   Italy has no other top female team, and the juniors aren't looking promising either, the last time they qualified a team to a World Juniors (not as host) was in 2014. Doubt the Italian Federation would let Constantini step away from the four-player game, she's too much of a talent, my guess is she'll "be forced" to go with Mariani (I mean her and Mosaner don't like each other much), still I have no idea who else they'd pick up given it's all five of them going their separate ways. Maybe Mathis will go back to representing Switzerland??
