During last weekend's Women's Volleyball World Championships, I didn't sleep for three or four nights from nerves and later the excitement wore going down until Tuesday, so I'm used to it. Now I can relax a bit, although it's difficult.

I can relate :p

And what part of the USA are you from? Because there's as much difference between New York and Hawaii as there is between New York and Rome :)

South Carolina...I was impressed once when I was in Iceland and the guy in the restaurant not only knew where that was, but also knew that the college I went to was good at (American) football!

Not lying, when I was younger it was much more easier. Vancouver 2010 I did not sleep 16 consecutive nights and still felt well, not sure I will be able to repeat the same achievement for LA though

I remember Vancouver good because it was a wonderful time in my life, although in terms of results, it was the worst Winter Olympics for Italy in my life - only Razzoli saved our honor with the first gold medal in the slalom last Saturday.

I would like to visit Alaska someday - apparently Anchorage once wanted to organize the Winter Olympics there, but it was probably unrealistic?

Why do they always plan the out-of-stadium events so incredibly bad, in such a way that we get to see in detail the less interesting part, and then when it starts to explode, we're going to some random hammer throw qualifying attempts and a few running heats...

Like now, women's marathon is really heating up after 1,5 hour of not much going on, aaaaaand we're going to the stadium.

Yes...two states to the north.

Per Live Results, Sullivan's lead is down to 15 seconds.

It's all a matter of planning. I've found it quite easy for Rio, Pyeongchang, Tokyo and Beijing when I 'simply' changed my daily routines to fit those times (breakfast in the Asian morning, dinner in the Asian evening, and sleeping in the Asian night, and so on). Of course the biggest challenge for that is whether or not you have the opportunity for that in terms of obligations (be it school, work, family life, etc). I'll certainly arrange my vacations in time for LA, but who knows what circumstances have changed in my life to make it more challenging then :p

For me, when I sleep during the day, I wake up even more tired than before I went to bed :P I don't know if this is normal or if I should be worried? But I've had this for years, so I hope it's nothing serious...
