Italian champs have been decimated by many withdrawals, some because of injury, some because of personal scheduling

No Furlani, no Andy Diaz, no Jacobs (nor many other good 60m specialists), no Simonelli, no Battocletti, out even the young sensation Doualla (injured, indoor season is over for her)

main attraction are now the Fabbri vs Weir battle in the men's Shot Put, Zeynab Dosso in the women's 60m and Larissa Iapichino in the women's Long Jump

some kind of interest also for Luca Sito in the men's 400m and a few more youngsters, hopefully improving their PBs

:GRE Karalis just cleared 5.95 (new indoor NR) and 6.01 (new overall NR), both on his first attempts!

EDIT-He missed his first attempt at 6.08 and is not going to attempt any more jumps.

top of day #1

5km Race Walking: Francesco Fortunato wins the race in a new world record time of 17.55.65 (previous WR held by :RUS Mikhail Schennikov since February, 1995 with 18.07.08; previous NR held by Athens 2004 20km Olympic Champion Ivano Brugnetti in 18.08.86)

men's High Jump: 2024 junior world silver medallist Matteo Sioli improves to 2.28m to win the competition on the last jump against Manuel Lando (2.26m at the 1st attempt, while Sioli did it at the 2nd, so he needed to clear a better hight to win)

men's Long Jump: 16-year young Daniele Inzoli wins with a 7.93m jump (U-18 NR, 6th European U-18 all time)

women's Long Jump: just an ordinary 6.69m jump was enough for Larissa Iapichino to take another Italian title at home

looking at Tomorrow, men's Shot Put and women's 60m should be the highlight of the day, with both men and women's 400m also to be taken into consideration

Nice to see a decent sized crowd for this! Also I spot Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou in the crowd :d

Our women's long jump final was such a joke, the top 3 had a combined 12 fouls and only 6 valid jumps :roflmao:
