It’s happened a couple times at worlds. We’ve had the final pre-emptively cancelled once (women’s snowboard slopestyle in 2018). As for how likely… depends on the weather tomorrow I guess. In 2022 they ran the men’s ski half-pipe final in some pretty horrible wind conditions. -
Is that likely, I know it happens at world cups a lot but at the Olympics? -

This is my theory, actually. What makes great national sporting dynasties? Overwhelmingly, I think, is when teenagers joining the system are brought into direct personal contact with adults who are already champions. This explains why certain countries excel in certain sports. in track cycling, in speed skating, in cross country, in distance running etc etc. -

You have good athletes already in snowboard and freestyle, they just need some extra guidance to make the jump to being elite ones. Alpine is lacking, especially on the women's side, so a lot of work needs to be done there. Cross-country showed big potential on the men's side, but the women are again not present. Ski-jumping has Faubert, but that is a specific sport. The biggest problems are in the skating and sliding sports. As we see those sports bring looooooooots of medals and France is nowhere near competitive in them (bar one Loubineaud). -
So if Bach was "Mr. 1976 Olympic Champion in Fencing", Coventry is going down as "Mrs. I was not aware". -
I guess the Danes just love handball too much a bit like our obscene love of rugby in NZ. I always think imagine if some of those rugby players threw a shot put or a hammer throw instead. I mean one former national junior rugby player Tom Walsh is slowly showing the way. I guess some of those Danish handballers could try speedskating. I'm always baffled with the Belgians. Maybe too much love of road cycling. -

The Netherlands is just lucky. I hope there's nothing more to it. Norway and the Netherlands have such an advantage in some sports that I'd like to take a closer look at them – after all, there was already a controversy over Bjoergen's asthma medication. -

This is my objection to . Far more cold. Just as flat. Got two Winter Olympic medals & have so many they can afford to offload a few to their slow-witted country cousins in -
