Recommended Posts

We can improve the "document" schedule by adding the exact hockey and curling matches in eliminary stages.

It does not add very much, but it has the start and (scheduled!) finish times, side by side, so that you can tell what events are on at the same time, and so how many devices you need to watch all the things you want to watch.   Plus colors!   Mostly it's just fun to put it together.

Thanks! Yes that makes sense, from our schedule it's not possible to immediately see what events are in progress on a given time.

As for finish times, I was used to add them in the past but I decided to remove them because the finish time is usually given only in the "session" (like for ticketing purposes) before a more detailed schedule is released, and in too many sports the finish time is too difficult to predict. I think also the final live results website does not add finish times.

Also at the request of nobody, here's the schedule for Milano Cortina 2026 in Excel format.  Bold indicates medals.

Ways to use this to your advantage:

1) Sort data by Date then Time to see all events in order chronologically.

2) Sort data by Sport then Date then Time to see all events in order by Sport chronologically.

3) Filter by Sport to see only that sport (or choose more than one).  (Can be useful if you only care to pay attention to a few.)  You can then filter by event if necessary (i.e. Women's 500m).  It can be useful to see the progression of certain events.  (One downfall is that you can't filter by Men's, as 'Women's' contains the same characters.)

4) Filter by medal events by searching (GM) or (BM).

Note that on this site, there is a great Calendar by Sport and Date, so there's nothing here that isn't already on the site; however, for those who want to deal with all the events at once, filtering as you'd like, this Excel lets you do that.

(I just did the LA28 version over in the other discussion thread.)

Note to all that I just updated the download above.  I decided I liked the ability to filter by medal events in my LA28 Excel, so I added it to Milano.  Feel free to re-download.  You now have the capability to filter in the Event by (GM) or (BM) if you want to just see sessions with medals.

Thanks! I am updating the calendar on our website as well.

I have noticed two mistakes so far:

Freestyle Skiing: aerials finals are missing (men, women and mixed).

Luge: wrong start time of Doubles trainings 2 on February 8th.

Also for ice hockey, the wrong groups are listed for the preliminary round matches

who knows? :dunno:

last February they would have been good, both in Valtellina and in Cortina & Antholz

luckily, in Milan all the action is indoor, because outside normally it's hotter than in Sochi

Very excited to, though I do think three of the next four Winter Olympics all being in the Alps is a bit of an overcorrection xD

    • Oh well.  Plenty people say that once you get past the first flush of youthful energy it is actually better long term to have a couple of post Olympic slow years and then start building back gradually after 18 months.  That is how Chris Hoy ran his career.
