first win for the Italian men's relay since 2007 :yikes:  :cheer:

very good Home stage for us

if only the organizers didn't set the finals sessions at 2 p.m. (especially on Saturday), there would have been a lot more spectators on the seats :bones:

Sighel took a big risk on the last turn. Luckily there was no PEN. You can take such risks at the World Cup, but at the Olympics you can lose a certain silver to attack for gold. Today in the relay there are the big 5: Can, Kor, Chn, Ned and Ita. So it will be a terrible fight even at the semi-final level. The Italians are a bit miss a 4 skater: Antonioli is a level lower and I think we have to count on Previtali's progress until next year. Today, for the first time since 2022, Fontana showed great skate. There is some hope for the future, but the level is insanely high.

Which would be worth the try, I'd say. There isn't that much of a difference between silver and bronze, but between silver and gold....oh yeah :p (or bronze and 4th, of course)

Sighel has a character that he doesn't calculate, but always attacks for gold. Sometimes it ends in falls or DSQ. Sighel at the European Championships last year in the mixed relay attacked Holland in the fight for gold, but he fell and Italy was out off the podium. These are always dilemmas, because in the relay you skate with your colleagues, not alone and in this way you deprive them of a certain medal.
