2. Wesley Chiu - 89.14

3. Aleksa Rakic - 81.79

4. Roman Sadovsky - 81.79

I think he’s the heavy favourite for the Olympic spot now, even if Chiu can make up that difference in the free program (or anyone else), Skate Canada is prioritizing the short program for the team event.

I had a look at the leaderboards for this year. Gogolev's short Program score places him 3rd on the short Program leaderboard only trailing Malinin and Kagiyama.

 

Of course there's a home ice scoring boost but this is still very encouraging for the team event.

Yeah, they want to send a message to the international judges... at least that's how they spin it :d

So yeah, there is good reason they don't count towards world records

2. Roman Sadovsky - 255.10 (173.31)

3. Aleksa Rakic - 246.02 (162.42)

 

That should officially cement Gogolev's spot on the olympic team.
