WTF

Laura Dahlmeier has had a mountaineering accident in Pakistan, and has not been reached yet by emergency services. A helicopter has flown over the area though and determined she is 'at least seriously injured', adding that they didn't see signs of life....

The search and rescue operation has been halted for today due to darkness. This isn't going to have a miracle ending

Very shocking news :(  Though when doing extreme sports and activities, one should expect that something could go wrong at any time. Doesn't make it any less sad.

Es gibt große Sorgen um die Ex-Biathletin: Bei einem Hubschrauber-Überflug wurde festgestellt, dass sie mindestens schwer verletzt ist. Lebenszeichen waren nicht zu erkennen.

So they saw her body but can't land there? I don't understand German and the translator might be wrong.

Basically, yes. They said they didn't see any signs of life and determined, I assume because of that, that she is at least severely injured. That leads me to believe they have seen her, but could indeed not land there, drop someone down or anything like it.

I wonder if there's any chance of getting there in better weather? And if she showed signs of life, would they risk a rescue today?

More or less the same as in Bild. If she survived the fall, it's tragic that she's been left without help for two days with temperatures under 0 at night. If she was located by helicopter, I don't understand why the rescue operation was halted? What are the procedures in Pakistan regarding this?
