GB finish with 8 pen points in the showjumping. Will qualify for the team final.

Doing quite well in an event where we struggled in Tokyo

Oh dear. She always underwhelms at the Olympics.

Sadly, she is in the worst possible position in British sport - being that one single world class athlete on whom a whole edifice of sporting funding is built.  Okay, there is money for shotgun, but for rifle - it’s just her.

to no ones surprise, man is in pieces.

GB losing to France in the hockey and Italy in the Tennis.... one of those to be expected, the other certainly not *sigh*

Hockey turned about for a 2-1 win

Once again I am confronted with the quadrennial mystery that is Olympic sailing.  :GBR In with an outside medal chance in the men’s skiff.  Not a boat you would choose for a luxury voyage by the look of it.

GB Men now guaranteed to reach the knockout rounds of the Hockey tournament. A win against Germany in the final group game would probably mean a QF against Argentina or India, and a decent shot of progressing to the medal games. Draw or lose against Germany, and we're likely to find ourselves facing Belgium or Australia, who'd provide a much stiffer test.

Oh sailing, never change. GB wern't doing well so the one above turned off the wind. We go again

See, this is one of my bugbears.  Low wind conditions are precisely when you find out the BEST sailors.  It’s like stopping the 100m because someone is running too fast.

    • This could be the last ever Paralympics. Come 2028 it might well not be held because the IPC has split in two. That’s one legacy for Andrew Parsons.    He could simply ignore CAS or even withdraw the IPC from them. Unless he is worried about falling from his hotel room window or is being blackmailed.
    • The Netherlands has decided to cancel its hosting of the 2026 European Paralympic Swimming Championships due to the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes under their own flags, ad.nl reported on February 25. The Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) made this decision after consultations with government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, which confirmed the withdrawal.
    • An interesting bit from the head of french biathon on the olympic success. • Indians have rediscovered hockey due to recent Olympic and Asian level successes. One of the catalyst was a sports movie called 'Chak De! India' (meaning Go India in Punjabi) which is a underdog movie on the women's team. The movie songs has become an iconic patriotic song to motivate our athletes in sports events and the movie title 'Chak De' has become a slogan in itself.  The movie is available in Netflix France as well - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0871510/
