BBC was trailing that he was going to keep his cards close to his chest and do something crazy tomorrow… if today was playing it cool then we should be in for a treat!

For sure if you have s big trick you save it for the final.

Going to be a nervy second run for Joe Clarke in the Canoe Slalom. 50pt penalty on Run #1. Only has to finish in the top 20 (of 24) to advance, but means he can't afford any big errors.

He’s surely good enough to do that.

Sailing seems to be going well.

Emma Wilson in the women’s windsurfing sits top of the leaderboard after 6 races, 17 points clear of the second place (currently Israel). 1st ranked place after the Opening Series progresses directly to the final.

Sam Sills in the men’s windsurfing is in 9th after 6 races. Anyone ranked 4-10 progresses to quarter finals.

In the women’s skiff, the ladies sit in 17th after 9 races and won’t challenge for medals.

In the men’s skiff after 9 races the men are sitting in 4th with all to play for.

Men's skiff just won race 9 (of 12) and moved up to 4th overall, 11 (i think screen changed quicky) off gold

:IRL in perhaps the most vulnerable position of the top 3 as their discard score is a DSQ (21 points) so basically every result will count for them so they can't really afford to have a bad race.

Both :GBR and :NZL have a discard score of 18 so if they have a dodgy race in the next 3 they could easily see themselves drop down the table. NZL will be glad that racing is done for the day as they have struggled in the conditions today with an 11th, 18th and 16th. In contrast, GB had a 5th, 11th and 1st in the last 3 races.

:ESP looking pretty good at the top of the table. They have an 11 point lead over IRL and their discard score is 16 so even if they have to count that, they'd still be in the mix for the medals.

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.
