Tennis at the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

:LBN Hady Habib will replace Hubert Hurkacz in M singles. He is already in Paris, qualified for playing doubles with Benjamin Hassan before.

I wonder who will replace Hurkacz in the draw, with the time frame it would have to be someone already there wouldn't it?

I began typing an answer moments before you asked the question LOL

The Games haven't started and the weather forecast is already amazing :roflmao: ..... I suppose tennis games will start being moved to other days already from first day. :hairpull:

Wouldn't mind a shorter daily schedule and a few delays tbh. The opening days are already severely crowded with many sports and i'm not giving my attention much to tennis, unless there is a special match happening. The players who are making it far won't be playing the Canada Masters either way, so no big deal if it's pushed a bit.

:raspberry:

The problem is that they haven't won anything recently. He lost and FO, he was eliminated 1/4 in Wimbledon... If he had a bit of ambition, he should have used it to win medals at the Olympics. And what does he do? He runs away. Joke. Alcaraz, in turn, recently won a double in the Slams, and yet he is motivated to play in Paris and fight for two gold medals. For me, Sinner will never have the mental of a great champion like Nadal, Djokovic etc. Their additional difficulties make stronger. In case of Sinner weaker and he gives up.

Strongly agree with this. Alcaraz will dominate in the years to come. He has the mentality of Nadal and Djokovic.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
