This foreign lass on the world feed is awful, possibly one of the worst commentators I've ever heard. She just said she was surprised by how disappointing Switzerland were even though they qualified.

Germany has exchanged two athletes for the preliminary round (both men). Don't the rules stipulate that only one athlete may be changed?

Christ, well she's certainly not picked the right profession to go into post retirement. A few people on Twitter have also complained about her poor commentary skills.

Currently Czechia and Italy are leading the two world ranking spots.

Going to be a nervous wait, think there’s several countries could put together much better teams than they had here.

    • Handy geography lesson.
    • We´ll see. anyway, I hope hope so.   It was her first career senior bout, maybe a bit too early, to be thrown in the lion´s den, but if all this will result in a medal in LA 28 I am all in

    • @hckošice, even though Tomankova lost, she had a good fight against Costa, I think soon she and Babulfath will be the stars of -48kg.

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
