A doubles player will enter probably. Maybe Vavassori?

Vavassori will already be at the Olympics, he’ll play men’s doubles with Bolleli and mixed doubles with Errani.

:wDEN: Holger Rune(tennis) is out due an injury.

Obviously quite unfortunate, but his shitty attitude meant I was probably going to be rooting against him anyways. It’s a shame, because if he could learn how to control his emotions (so mental game) I could see him winning a couple of grand slams.

I dont know where to post this so i do it here. I dont think its a bad idea to create a thread about the injured athletes in this games. Today i watched 5 athletes* leaving the field with an apparent injury, and probably im missing someone. I dont know if it was just a hit or something serious but i think its good to create it, especially for teams competitions.

* :IRL Jordan Conroy and :ARG German Schultz (Mens rugby 7), a :KOR handball athlete (Womens Handball) and 2 womens football players from :COL and :JPN.

Both :CAN and :NZL used alternates in their women's football match today.

:CAN Shelina Zadorsky replaced Jayde Riviere and  :NZL Michaela Foster replaced Ali Riley.

It appears that Riviere will be subsituted back into the team later in the tournament, but that Riley isn't expected to return.

Unlike previous tournaments (before Tokyo), a Football player can be temporarely removed from the active roster and replaced by an alternate for any match, as long as there is a bona fide injury, and then return for a later match. Any player that is on the pitch or on the bench for any of the matches is eligible to receive a medal.

    • Netanyahu is bad but unfortunately Hamas helps him maintain power. Every attack they make is a reinforcement of Netanyahu's rhetoric about the country's security, etc. In the fall of 2023, Netanyahu was already losing support and then suddenly a big Hamas attack on a festival near the Gaza Strip. Coincidence? It wouldn`t surprise me at all if Netanyahu knew about the plan for this attack but did nothing so that he would then have the tools to maintain his power. I also remember Ariel Sharon - he was probably even more radical than Netanyahu but he had a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma.

A large part of the power apparatus of the USSR was based on Jews, especially in the years shortly after WWII.   Instead of constantly writing about Jews, would be better to tell me which country Algeria has better diplomatic relations with: Tunisia or Egypt?
