in term of strength yes, but he is a shame . last year he lost on purpose to Kayaalp. the same happend in 2011. guess why ? because Turks paid him well, he also lost once to Baroev (RUS), they paid him as well, he could have 3 more world titles.

Wow, what a disgusting conduct, but not surprised at all. Poor Cubans will do anything to have some money and have a better living in their country (via black market)

I would like these allegation to be investigated and if proven, then a suspension to Russian and Turkish federations and for Lopez to forfeit all his accomplishments. Sorry, but this is against the spirit of fair competition.

Fucking finally someone other than Ivet Lalova showed hearth and class. I'm so happy for Elitza Yankova. In a battle against non-other than a russian, with both bleeding from the nose and she was losing 0-4 in the beginning, turned it into a beautiful 9-4 win with great moves.

Congratulations. I was waiting for Bulgaria to win a medal. I'm glad it was someone who give it all.

Stadnik is devastated, that loss will be a tough one for her.

That was indeed devastating for all Maria's fans:cry::( She was better in final and should have won the gold medal. Despite of the fact that she is Ukranian, she is the number 1 female athlete here in our country. Everybody love her, even conservative people who think that wrestling is not for women. She is like a celebrity here, probably the main person who encourage our young girls to choose wrestling. I hope next time Maria will get her gold medal.:fingers:

What happened yesterday with Japan is unbelievable, i'm still baffled, not that they won all three categories, but the way they did. And to think today we will have more or less the same deal, oh dear. :d:mirror:

Stop the presses, there was a japanese loss today. :yikes: Also Adeline Grey lost too, so the american will count on Maroulis upsetting Yoshida for a gold (yeah sure ). Or Porizkova, but it will be a big surpise there.

-75kg was Japan's weakest category here so this is not a surprise. ;)

    • I really hope Nordic Combined doesn't get scrapped. Actually, I believe the Winter Olympics should keep growing with new sports and disciplines (3x3 Hockey, Ice Cross, Speed Skiing, Ice Climbing), otherwise they won't feel like a true celebration of sports like their summer counterpart.
    • In fact, well, no. Hockey is extremely physically demanding, I even think it is the most physically demanding winter sport of all. I mean keeping more than a minute on ice is just cardiac. The shifts are there for a reason.   25 players rosters are absolutely justified. You must have 4 lines to keep the stamina the whole game.   Hard to persuade people who never watched hockey though, I can understand your point, but sadly, the point is wrong
    • Stats are ok, but the time she losts on the range every time... My point was that she is more likely to make us losing the olympic relay than to make us winning it.
    • I'll jump on the off-topic with an unpopular opinion - ice hockey isn't so stamina demanding to justify 25 people rosters. And it doesn't have big playing fields like football or rugby for example, where you'd require so many reserves. 15 field players + 3 goalies should be good. Or 18+3 at max. But 25 is too much imo and the constant substitutes are too much as well.
    • But her shooting surely never was horrendous, or even bad for her standards.
