What does the LA schedule look like for doubling up? I assume his priority will be the individual time trial on the road

I believe the ITT is on Wed 19 July while the track events start on Tue 25, definitely possible to double up for him. This all depends on if the ITT route being  not too hilly for him though, otherwise I'll expect him just to do the track.

European Track Champs in Turkey got a bit overlooked, but have been a real old school triumph for Team GB

7G 4S 2B and no fewer than 3 World Records set!  Certainly sets us up with the Commonwealths to come and getting ready for Los Angeles.

Victory for Tom Pidcock in the Milano-Torino today. His first victory in a one day race for a couple of years

He's always a threat in hilly races that don't have Pogacar, Del Toro or Vingegaard in them.  :p  Sort of an Andy Murray of cycling.

Seriously, good for him.  Was a bit undercooked in the Ruta del Sol a few weeks back, although he got a stage, but this is obviously getting in form at the right time for the spring majors.

Catching up on backlog of results. Last week was the first couple of rounds in the BMX Racing European Cup and there was plenty of good news for Team :GBR.

In the men's event, Ross Cullen did the double, winning both Rounds. Matthew Gilston was 13th with Kye Whyte in 17th in Round 1 but followed that up with a 6th and 8th place respectively in Round 2.

In Round 1 for the women, Emily Hutt was the top finishing Brit in 3rd with Bethany Shriever in 8th place whilst Sienna Harvey took 2nd in the Under-23 race. In Round 2, Shriever took the top spot on the podium with Hutt finishing in 14th place.

All in all a very positive weekend for both the men and the women. Appreciate that it is still early days, but think there is every chance that :GBR should be able to qualify 2 quotas in both the men's and women's BMX Racing for LA. Indeed, if Shriever can stay healthy and maintain form, there is even chance the women's could sneak a 3rd spot. It makes a huge difference having multiple riders scoring points in the Elite races. Going into Paris, the team were pretty much entirely dependent on the performance of Shriever. But with Shriever and Hutt in the Elite and Harvey likely to move into Elite next year, GB have a strong squad.

    • The women's weights are okay given the distribution of competitors. The men's weights are definitely underweight. Adding 2-3kg in each event would make it more balanced.

    • c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)   please, someone shoot to death Coe and his accolades as soon as possible!!!
    • That's only if they don't listen to Trump's 48 hour deadline. But that is permanently 48 hours away, since, well, TACO.
    • I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
