You will remember, we were threatened with a duathlon instead of a triathlon in Paris. Of course, the Duathlon is an event in its own right & this weekend sees the World Championships, taking place during the brutal :AUS winter, where everyone is at least safe from sharks & crocs, but not from snakes & spiders.

Hard to keep track of all the different triathlon formats, but the new Supertri Series started last weekend.  Based around Olympic triathlon, but with each race divided into 9 sections.  First race was in.Boston :USA last weekend. Sunday is Race 2 in Chicago.

Just an early heads-up - the two races in the Triathlon World Series from :CHN this weekend are both on Friday morning Europe time, so plan accordingly!  More details later.

    • Also a first: never before has a Dutch pair participated in the games, according to media rapports.
    • The Technical director of the Dutch Olympic Committee has, using his discretionary powers, decided to include them in the team. He cites “extra-ordinary circumstances”, but has not stated what they are. The use of these powers is quite rare. They were used in 2022 to nominate an alpine-skier.
