It made it more exciting because there were lots more possibilities for nervous hands to fumble the pellets, mess up the loading etc etc as well as simply missing the target. But I guess that since MP often shares facilities with other sports, unlike biathlon which has its own ranges, then nobody wants little lead bullets all over the goal line of their lovely football pitch, so that was the thinking. Expand OH, yeah, they wanted to be politically correct and make a big song and dance about climate etc, but I am sure that the practical objection was the one I gave. Horses, on the other hand, are very welcome, nothing better for the grass than horses!
