So much so that :GBR no longer accepts times set there for Qualification purposes.

Why would it not be accepted? There are definately other competitions on high altitude/much wind for Throws etc that would be more reason to not count?

Yeah, but it had become kind of a fashion for British athletes to go there every year specifically to get SBs, so they cracked down.  Geneva, Annency etc are still fine.  Maybe people haven't discovered all those little Italian meets yet.

That's a weird reason not to allow those results anymore. "Athletes are going to location X to have good results, so we won't count them anymore."

What. There are sports where that would have been quite a good idea (cross-country skiing for example, where simply participating in certain races was enough to get great points, under the old system at least), but athletics?

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

No, it was seen as a soft touch, Because people were persistently recording results at altitude that they never reproduced at the big competition.

:USA Quincy Wilson with another U18 WR in the men’s 400m, clocking 44.20 at the Holloway Pro Classic!

And to absolutely no one’s surprise, he was completely out of breath when doing the post race interview with Holloway :p

:NOR Jakob Ingebrigtsen and his brothers created a song?  :rofl:

Have to admit, not as bad as I thought it would be. Actually it’s pretty catchy. Now all I need to do is learn Norwegian to figure out what the words mean :p

Probably a secret diss track on Josh Kerr :p

    • In my opinion, Trump is a very difficult opponent: he has hard electorate, not voters and if he does something wrong, his electorate forgives him. Secondly, he is an experienced man with a TV past who is doing great in the campaign. He is old but his health is good and it`s hard to beat someone like that. In 2020, Biden won mainly because of Covid and Trump's terrible decisions (Biden also won not by that much then). In my opinion, if the Republicans had put up a polite and well-mannered politician like Mitt Romney, Harris would have had a much easier time winning against him. If Trump were weak, he wouldn`t be allowed to run again after his defeat in 2020.

    • And Ed will be back later tonight to play a melody of his top songs.    Tonight we're emanating from the incredible Goodison Park in Liverpool, which will also play host to Sunday's grand final and closing ceremony.    So let's find out a bit more about our host venue.      Built in 1892 after a dispute between the owners of Everton Football Club and Anfield Stadium (where Everton used to play) the stadium can hold a total of 39,414 people.    The stadium has played host to many memorable moments, including the vast majority Everton's 130+ years in top flight football, their miraculous last day relegation escapes, the 1893-94 FA Cup final between Notts County and Bolton Wanderers and 5 games at the 1966 World Cup including the Quarter Final between Portugal and North Korea and the Semi Final between West Germany and the the Soviet Union.    This ground was also chosen by lifelong Everton fan Sylvester Stallone to play host to the fight between Adonis Creed and "Pretty" Ricky Coclan in the 2015 Box Office film Creed.    At the end of the 2024-25 Premier League season the ground is set to be demolished and turned into a housing estate as Everton move into their new stadium Bramley Moor Dock next season. A truly fitting venue to host TISC 2024.
